As a fourth generation and Bishop resident for over 37 years, I have
always considered Bishop, California my home. I fees a strong commitment to
helping the city maintain its character for future generations. Like most of the area's
residents, I live here because of Bishop's quaint charm and small town
atmosphere.
Born in 1949, I'm the daughter of Genevieve and Newell Clement and my
grandparents were Frank and Olive Arcularius. The Arcularius family has deep roots
in Bishop and can be considered a pioneer family.
I spent every summer at my family's fishing resort, the Arcularius Ranch near
Mammoth Lakes, where I could always be seen riding my horse. I attended Bishop
Elementary and Bishop High School. After graduating from High School I attended
the University of Nevada at Reno along with the Reno Business School.
In 1970, I married Michael Cullen and took over the operations of the
Arcularius Ranch for seven years. Michael and I then purchased the Meadow
Farms Liquor Store and owned that during the 1980's. in 1985 we moved to Riverside, California.
I spent the next ten years as a commercial construction bookkeeper for
several multimillion dollar companies. Since Michael's untimely passing in 1997,
I have worked as an office manager and bookkeeper for Dentology Inc. located
in the Los Angeles area. Since relocating back to Bishop in 2004, I still
work for the company by doing payroll and accounting work from home. In 2005, I was elected to the Bishop City Council as a Councilmember and in 2009 was re-elected to the City Council. Also in 2009, I was voted by the council to the position of Mayor for a one-year term.
Michael and I raised two sons, Corey and Robert. Corey is in the human resources field and lives in Southern California, while Robert is currently serving in the Army and stationed in Baghdad, Iraq. They both spent most of their lives growing up
in Bishop and were very involved with Boy Scouts,
4-H, Little League and AYSO soccer.
My personal interests include camping, fishing, ATV riding, photography,
gardening and spending time with my grandchildren.
